Everything in our home is powered through wires that allow power to flow from the power source to the appliance. Over the years there have been updates to wiring technology and the electrical code that ensures that wiring is safe.
There are several instances where you may need to call an electrician to determine if you need an electrical wiring repair. A wire or outlet could have become damaged and may need a simple replacement. The larger concern is if your home uses wiring that’s wiring that’s over 30 years old. Common practice used to be the installation of aluminum wiring. Although it was once considered the preferred wiring material due to its weight, conductivity and low cost, improperly installed aluminum wire can pose serious risks.
Aluminum wiring is mostly thought to have a useful life span of around 30 years, and the wiring connections can become hot enough to start a fire without ever causing the circuit breaker to trip. Electrical wiring repair may be necessary to fix many of the symptoms that are caused by aluminum wiring.
